We know that in-person training is the preferred learning method for many tax professionals, so we plan to hold our live classes if it is possible.
We intend to reduce the maximum number of attendees at each site to allow more room for attendees to separate from each other. Since some of our locations are typically sold out, this means that they will sell out sooner, so reserve your seat now!
If we cannot hold our live classes, you will be given the choice of receiving a refund or receiving our recorded seminar, including contact with the instructor so you can ask questions and get more explanation when needed.
We know that you need to make plans with confidence. That's why we are offering a risk-free cancellation policy with refunds being issued until 2 weeks before any event for which you are registered if you choose to cancel for any reason.
Not just theory...Real-life application!
Topics covered include:
Get $40 off if you register by June 15! (Early-bird date extended because of COVID-19 restriction uncertainty.)
8 hours federal update CPE
All these rules keep a taxpayer from claiming tax deductions when they spend money. Learn why most taxpayers are no longer required to follow these tax-raising rules.
The CARES Act and SECURE Act both include many retroactive provisions, and filing amended returns can put money in your clients’ pockets now.
The CARES Act includes many tax reduction opportunities, and lower incomes in 2020 mean tax-planning opportunities, but action will be needed before year-end. Start thinking about what things you need to discuss with your clients.
When the CARES Act made changes to retirement plan rules you still hadn’t really implemented the changes that resulted from the SECURE Act or the 2019 Disaster Act. We will put it all together, along with the rules that didn’t change, so you get a full understanding of retirement plan contributions and distributions. Helpful reference charts will help you keep it all straight.
2018 and 2019 NOLs can now be carried back. Last year we learned how to calculate the NOL; this year we’ll review the NOL carryback rules! A simple worksheet and step-by-step checklist will simplify the process.
The TCJA made significant changes to depreciation rules, and now the CARES Act has changed them again, so let’s review the rules, including the personal property regs from 2013 that said we can write most costs off as repairs, and be certain you are applying all of them to the best advantage of your client. A handy flowchart will lead you to the right answer every time.

Lisa Ihm, EA has been teaching seminars nationwide since 1986. Rather than simply reciting the rules, she breaks them down and uses a methodical approach to help you understand how tax laws will apply to taxpayers in the "real world". Then she digs below the surface to make you think about how tax laws affect your clients and how you can use those laws to your clients’ benefits. Her fast-paced, engaging style will make this seminar both informative and fun!
We appreciate it when you tell others about our seminars, and we will thank you by sending you a $25 check for each friend who attends one of our seminars for the first time.
Just have your friend enter your name in the "I was referred by..." box at checkout. After they attend we will send you a check for $25. It's that simple!
Thank you for spreading the word!
