Qualified Business Income Deduction

(2 hours)

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act permanently extended the QBI Deduction and expanded who qualifies.

If you’ve been putting off learning the nuances, secretly hoping it would expire with TCJA, this session gives you the confidence to:

  • Calculate the QBI Deduction
  • Understand phaseouts and carryovers
  • Determine whether a taxpayer runs a Specified Service Trade or Business
  • Use planning strategies to maximize QBI

RETIREMENT PLANS FOR THE SELF-EMPLOYED AND HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS

(2 hours)

Retirement accounts are a great way to save on taxes while keeping your money, but not all accounts are created equal.

We’ll compare the retirement vehicles available to self-employed taxpayers, help you match the right account to each client, and cover Health Savings Accounts plus long-term planning strategies.

Federal Tax Credits for Individuals

(2 hours)

You know the big ones, like EIC, CTC, and AOTC, but the lesser-known credits can mean big benefits.

We go in-depth on individual federal credits, from the Adoption Credit to the Premium Tax Credit, with tips to maximize each. You’ll learn:

  • When you can claim the full adoption credit even if your client had ZERO expenses
  • How to make scholarships taxable to allow for larger education credits
  • Allocations of Premium Tax Credit that can save hundreds in repayments
  • And more!

Tax Stuff You Thought You Knew

(2 hours)

You know the rules for travel expenses, right? What about charitable contributions?

Put your knowledge to the test in this interactive, game-show-style session that challenges everything you think you know about common tax situations.

Don’t blame us if you have to go amend a few returns afterward…
